Lake Allatoona

Lake Allatoona is located only 30 miles from Atlanta passing through Woodstock, Georgia. Allatoona is situated on the Etowah River, a tributary of the Coosa. One of the most visited places in Woodstock because of its serene and peaceful surroundings, Allatoona Lake offer a tranquil space from the rush city living. Allatoona Lake is one of the most frequently visited lakes in the nation with nearly 7 million visitors each year. This lake is in conjunction with other public and private organizations that provide a wide variety of recreational facilities that inject nearly $250 million into the whole regional economy every year.

Allatoona Lake is well equipped to meet the increased demand of the future with 589 campsites and 188 picnic sites accessible to the public. Aside from that, there are also facilities that Allatoona offers like the nine city and country parks, one state park with eight commercial marinas. Allatoona has 270 miles of shoreline with 978 Use permits issued.

It has been the oldest multipurpose project in the South Atlantic Division. The lake has been authorized construction of recreation facilities. Swimming Beach

 The beach leads into a roped-off area of Allatoona Lake. It has a 6 feet deep part and at the back of the beach is a playground with a playscape. Glass bottles or pets are not allowed on the beach.

Boat Ramp or Fishing Jetty 

 The boat ramp has three large lanes with pull-through parking spaces in the boat launch parking area. Adjacent to the swimming area is a raised structure that extends a short distance into the lake.

Picnic Facilities

Individual picnic tables are scattered around different areas of the park. It has a barbecue grill nearby.
